  • Yields: 4-6 with side dishes

- 500g lean mince

- 2 cloves minced garlic

- 1 or 2 cups of diced mixed veg (fresh or frozen)

- 1 beef stock cube

- 1/2 tin tomato soup concentrate

- 1 diced onion

- 2 tablespoons each Worcestershire, BBQ and tomato sauce

- 1 tablespoon of instant gravy mix (I usually use roast meat or brown onion)

- half cup water

- salt and pepper

1Combine all ingredients in slow cooker bowl

2Cover and cook on LOW for 6hrs

3Serve with mashed potato and fresh corn on the cob 🙂

5When I cook savoury mince no two meals of it are ever the same - just throw in whatever vegetables you have.

6Tin soup can also be substituted with tinned or fresh tomatoes if you prefer

Loved this!
I used tinned diced tomatoes instead of soup, halved the sauces and left out the garlic. Delicious, everyone loved it.!

Sure I don’t see why not 🙂

I tried this recipe as I wanted to make a shepherd’s pie but leave the filling cooking while at work so I just needed to top with mash when I got in. I used a tin of chopped tomatoes rather than tomato soup and I added frozen peas and sweetcorn. It was delicious and so easy to top with mash and pop in the oven after work. I did find it a bit sweet so will leave out the BBQ sauce and tomato sauce next time – I’ll just add some tomato puree.

I saw this recipe and thought it sounded good. Did a double batch so I could freeze some, but it was so good we ate the lot over 2 days! I used frozen peas and frozen corn and used beef stock instead of water. Served it with fresh crusty bread. This recipe is a keeper!

We love this. With 3 nearly adults in the house plus myself it’s a good quick easy meal. Even the boys will prepare it for me when I’ve had a busy day. We’ve made it into a shepherds pie and added pasta for something different.

making this tonight, cant wait! something so easy!!!

Yes it will fit a 3L
I don’t ever brown mine when I cook it 🙂

Would this be ok in a 3L slow cooker, Also do people brown the mince first, thanks

It really doesn’t need it but I think you could safely push it out a little longer on low if you need to 🙂

Thanks for recipe. My partner is a fussy eater. Hope that he will like this when I cook it.

If substituting tin of tomatoes do you put the whole tin in or just half a tin
