Ingredients

  • - 500g lean mince
  • - 2 cloves minced garlic
  • - 1 or 2 cups of diced mixed veg (fresh or frozen)
  • - 1 beef stock cube
  • - 200ml tomato soup concentrate

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in slow cooker bowl
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6hrs

      5 stars from my family.
I didn’t add the tomato sauce though. Served with mashed orange kumara and bread rolls.

  1. I made this tonight. I doubled the recipe to make a bulk lot to freeze. I left out the tomatoes instead I used a packet of dry French onion soup. I used fresh zucchini onion and carrot then frozen peas corn capsicum. yum!

Thanks for recipe. My partner is a fussy eater. Hope that he will like this when I cook it.

  3. We love this. With 3 nearly adults in the house plus myself it’s a good quick easy meal. Even the boys will prepare it for me when I’ve had a busy day. We’ve made it into a shepherds pie and added pasta for something different.

  4. I saw this recipe and thought it sounded good. Did a double batch so I could freeze some, but it was so good we ate the lot over 2 days! I used frozen peas and frozen corn and used beef stock instead of water. Served it with fresh crusty bread. This recipe is a keeper!

  5. I tried this recipe as I wanted to make a shepherd’s pie but leave the filling cooking while at work so I just needed to top with mash when I got in. I used a tin of chopped tomatoes rather than tomato soup and I added frozen peas and sweetcorn. It was delicious and so easy to top with mash and pop in the oven after work. I did find it a bit sweet so will leave out the BBQ sauce and tomato sauce next time – I’ll just add some tomato puree.

  6. Easy dad made meal packed with flavour added sweet potato & a cup of port then served with extra frozen veggies ??????

  7. Loved this!
I used tinned diced tomatoes instead of soup, halved the sauces and left out the garlic. Delicious, everyone loved it.!

  8. Im making dump bags for hubby. Do i need to brown the mince before placing it in a dump bag along with all the other ingrediants? Nte: the dump bags will be frozen and then hopefully thawed before he places it in the slow cooker!

  9. I made this last night and it was a big hit with my two teenagers and husband. We had no tomato soup or tomatoes so I added some Liquid chicken stock instead of beef stock cube and it still tasted great. ??

  10. This is a family favourite in our household even our fussiest kids love it. Our teenage boys and hubby have the leftovers for breakfast on toast. So easy to make. Thanks for sharing ??

  11. I made your Savoury Mince tonight and YUM. I have made it before. I ran out of onions so used a whole leek. I used ketchup instead of tomato sauce. It had a lot of flavour. Will be making it again

  12. Yasmin Morrison

Very delicious. Will be making again. I put potatoes in it and with a nice fresh baguette it made a very moorish hearty meal

  13. I made this last night it was really good I used tin tomatoes instead of the soup I stirred cooked macaroni through at the end will definitely be a regular meal.

  14. I made this one last night, with a couple of changes instead of tomato i used beef stock and i added a couple of spoons of Dijon mustard. Veges i used were, onion, corn, red capsicum, potato, sweet potato, carrot and pumpkin it turned out so nice. Thanks Pauline loved this one and the house smelt so nice all afternoon!

  15. I’m making this tonight I’m not a confident cook and have only used a slow cooker twice before, fingers crossed I get it right.

If you are on the lookout for a super easy, super cheap and super delicious slow cooked meal then you can not possibly go past this little ripper of a recipe!!! The entire family could not scoff this down fast enough especially when served with our fave slow cooked creamy mash potatoes ?? Only adjustment I made to this recipe was using a whole 500ml can of Rosella condensed tomato soup for extra sauciness. Comfort food at it’s absolute best, highly recommend you try this one too ?

  17. Wanting to make some of this into dump bags tonight/tomorrow.
Is there anything I need to leave out and add on the day of cooking?
    Eg water??

  18. YUMMY!!! Made this exactly as per recipe and it was delicious., no browning no nothing perfect consistency. Will be doubling the recipe next time as everyone loved it

  19. Made this for the first time last night. Can’t believe I hadn’t done it before but will now be part of the weekly menu as it was a huge hit with everyone. So tasty. I did a kg of mince and there isn’t much left. Thank you!

  20. I was just wondering whether you could double this recipe please for a 6.5L slow cooker? If so, would you only double the meat, veggies, soup, gravox and water? (So not double the stock and sauces) or would you just double everything? Thank you xo

  21. Reciepe looks so easy. Will definitely try this one out soon. Thank you ever so much for the endless reciepes. Makes my role so easy. Love it.

  22. Absolutely delicious. I microwaved some carrots, potatoes, broccoli and cauli and addded in the last couple of hours. Had leftovers with pasta tonight.

  23. This was delicious, easy and the whole family were able to customise their meals (served over mash, or in a wrap, or over a baked potato). Dare I say, the leftovers were even better the next day!

  24. I used tinned tomatoes & left out the bbq & gravy mix. Very tasty. An easy meal I’ll make more than once.

  25. I made this for dinner tonight – I added some frozen chopped spinach and a tablespoon of mango chutney, was delicious ?

Omg this recipe was amazing! My 8 yr old loved it , said she would love it as a spaghetti sauce too! Can’t wait to make again and put our own spin on it too ?

  27. This was incredible I added the whole tin of tomato soup because I don’t like half tins sitting around and it didn’t affect it at all. My 2 year old even ate it and he can be a tricky eater sometimes he kept saying “more” will 100% be making this again

  28. Made this and doubled the ingredients. Left out the garlic and parsley. Went round 4 of us and enough left over for lunch the next day or 2.

  29. I made this last week and it was absolutely delicious. Zero leftovers, I used HP Sauce and a full tin of tomato soup. So good, this will definitely be making repeat appearances on my dinner table. Thank you for another spectacular recipe.

  30. added a bit of this n a bit of that, used turkey mince instead ( was all I had , but I make this a lot ) always easy and tasty.

  31. Made for the first time tonight and absolutely loved it! Definitely make again.
Doubled the mince, full can of soup, 3 cups frozen veg, used Continental stock pod instead of cube, skipped garlic & rest ingredients as per recipe.

  32. Lauren Spackman

Quick and easy! Put in heaps of hidden veg, zucchini, carrots, split peas and then at the end mixed some pasta through! 2yrs old went back for 2nds! Will be on the rotation!

  33. I made this the other night my husband was extremely impressed.
Served with mash and had leftovers on toast for breakfast very tasty

  34. This is my favourite slow cooker recipe I think. So easy and delicious. I usually double the recipe and add 1/2 to 1 cup of lentils and some chopped baby spinach or kale or rainbow chard about 1/2 before serving. We have it with steamed broccoli and mashed potato. It freezes well and we take leftovers to work for lunch.

  35. I love this recipe! The first time I made it I went back for seconds which is unusual for me!! It’s so delicious. I’ve been thinking recently of using it as a pie filling.

  36. Made this in a 1.5L slow cooker on the weekend – used 500g pack of lean (5%) mince from Coles with 1 cup of frozen veg (plus other ingredients as listed) and it fitted perfectly! Delicious – especially for breakfast on toast – and will definitely make again.

  37. I’ve had mine on for two hours on high, it looks yuk, hopefully consistency improves, followed recipe but added mushrooms

    1. Mushrooms will add a lot of liquid to the dish, that will certainly change your consistency.
The recipe is also meant to be on low (for 6hrs), not high.
Remember too how something looks when barely cooked is not how it will look when actually cooked 🙂
If you don’t like the end consistency of yours I’d suggest by all means that you try again as per the recipe as it stands so it turns out how it should 🙂

  38. Have put this on for tonight, I added curry and used fresh vegetables so hoping it’s tasty as I love sav mince and have been looking for recipe with taste so hope this is the one

  39. I love this recipe. So easy to do. I make it every couple of week ? I usually have it on toast but I’ve had it with mash once or twice. It is so delicious! I’ve also tried it with a can of chopped tomatoes instead of the tomato soup but I much prefer the soup version

Mmmm so yummy! Has become a weekly addition in our household love it served with mashed potato ? tastes just as good the next day, if there is any left over haha !!

I made this for dinner last night, served with toast and plenty left over to make pies with for tonight. I substituted the soup with tinned chopped tomatoes because that’s what I had. So simple and delicious!

  42. Started making this and found I didn’t have tomato soup so used mushroom soup instead gave a more creamy taste IMO I also add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to give it a bit of zing. So tasty.

  43. Has anyone made this for the 3 hrs on high as I want to make for lunch and don’t have the 6 hours and how did it turn out

  44. 5 stars
I cooked this in my 1.5 ltr and it turned out amazing! Quick to put together and it has so much flavour! I will definitely make this again. Thanks Pauline!

  45. Hi, I am going to be making this for dinner, I see some people have doubled the recipe or at least doubled the meat. Just wanting to know how much longer I would need to cook this if I doubled the meat please, thank you ?

  46. 5 stars
I cooked this the other night for the first time. Love it, just amazing. Had it with some mashed potato, hubby had seconds. Had it on toast the following morning and just delish. Definitely cooking it again. Thanks for the recipe Ms. Pauline.

Cooked this yesterday and had it on toast for dinner tonight. Yum.
Followed the recipe except for the tomato soup (didn’t have any) so substituted a tin of tomato supreme instead. Will freeze leftovers for a quick, easy, filling and delicious meal later maybe as pies.

  50. 5 stars
Did this to the recipe except soup was 400g.
As you can’t buy exact size I go extra if always turns out nice and saucy.
    This was delicious ?

First time making Savory mince in Sc, I was looking for something different to cook with pork mince

Using this recipe, only thing I didn’t have was tin tomato soup, so instead used tin of crushed tomatoes (with basil & garlic) & sml tin of tomato paste & put on high for 3 hours (time limited)
Very versatile could be used on top of mash, toast, etc Tastes so yummy can’t wait for dinner tonight

will have with baked sweet potato and savoury mince as the filling and little grated cheese, my partner is going to make himself mash

made this last night was delicious..instead of tin of tomatoes I did about a quarter cup of tomato sauce and water..

Hi there. I’ve cooked this today and it smells amazing. It seems a little watery… I was wondering if there is any way to thicken it? Thank you.

  56. 5 stars
    Super saucy and flavoursome!!
I followed recipe except for tomato soup. I usually only keep 420g in pantry and wing it. I cooked 3 hours on high and removed lid toward end to thicken.
    Another good tasty recipe 😋

Wow , fantastic recipe the best I’ve ever tried, I followed recipe except used full can of condensed tomato soup and didn’t add any tomato sauce and used one cup of peas and one cup of corn, a good budget meal enjoyed by all the family, will certainly be making again

Nothing better than a warm, hearty serve of savoury mince on a chilly night. Great flavour and will become a regular dish in our household. Love an easy dish to prep.

This great one pot wonder savoury mince is full of deliciousness. Hubby giving it a 10/10.
Note: I added 1 teaspoon Italian herbs & 1/2 teaspoon thyme. Also I used a full tin tomato soup and an extra spoonful of gravy powder. Cooked in my 3.5L Westinghouse sc on low for 6 hours.
