- 1 tbsp. wholegrain mustard

- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 1 tsp. fresh thyme

- Place roast beef into slow cooker
- (I seared/sealed mine fist but this step is optional)
- Combine all other ingredients and pour over.
- Cook on low for approx. 6hrs

10/10 one of my new favourite recipes. My partner and myself absolutely loved this dish and while it was cooking the house smelt amazing! 🙂
So pleased you loved it 🙂
Smells divine.
Absolutely Devine. I cooked mine on low the whole time for 7hrs. Melted in our mouths, and so flavoursome.
Absolutely loved it. So tender, and flavoursome.. I cooked mine on low for 7 hrs.
Yum and so easy. I didn’t have any tomato paste so used 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce instead. Made gravy using the juices instead of just drizzling over
What cut of beef do you suggest?
Roast beef of your choice 🙂
love this roast beef and the wholegrain mustard
flavors were yummy had with roasted vegs and peas 🙂
i had on for 8hours when i was at work turn out lovely
My roast turned out beautifully with this recipe. Will use recipe again!
can this be cooked on high
It could do but you get the best tender result from long and slow cooking it
Just put mine on for the day. Can’t wait ?
My joint weighs 0.720gms. How long should I cook it for?
I would cook it for around 5-6hrs on low
Unfortunately we don’t like mustard can we use something else ?
Hi Kerry 🙂
I’d suggest a quick search for our other roast beef recipes
Lots without mustard there x
Did this turn out well done or medium
I’d say medium well?
But you could take yours out sooner if you prefer 🙂
Hi
My piece of beef only weighs 500 grams how long to cook after searing. Very confusing on how long to cook for as it only a small piece of beef. Hope you can help please. My husband likes his bf well medium well done
Probably closer to 5hrs for that size 🙂 Just check occasionally until it’s cooked to your level of preference 🙂
Hi can i use GIRELLO
That cut isn’t super lean is it? If not then sure that’ll be ok 🙂
Yummmm after cooked, I skimmed fat off the top and added cornflour slew plus a squirt of American mustard and heated to a yummy gravy with a tang…will definitely make again
I have a 1.9kg beef how long would I cook that for?! Thanks
7-8hrs low 🙂
Tender, juicy and sauce was amazing
Was loved by all
Delicious!! Made this on Father’s Day and it was a hit. Cooked for 8hours on low as our joint was 1.8kg. Had leftovers for lunch. Sauce was great, could be done with so many other things. Thanks again Paulene.
We thought this recipe was delicious. Didn’t make any changes except we used a 2kg roast. I cooked this on low for 8hrs the meat was tender and great taste.
What cut/joint did people use? Thanks
I have a 5 kg blade was thinking maybe 10 hours on low?
Sounds good 🙂
Don’t have beef stock so Ive’enriched’ some vegetable stock with some red wine. Looking forward to six oclock tonight!
How was it Robyn 🙂
Hi
I have a 5kg topside of beef was wondering how long to cook for.
5kg is super large! I’d go all day, 10hrs+ 🙂
I’ve got 750 grams of roast beef how long do you suggest
Same time Paul 🙂
I’ve just made this courtesy of a meat raffle win. Definite keeper, beautiful and tender as well as flavoursome. Served with mashed potato, peas and spooned the juices over the lot. I will add I’m fairly particular, so I was pleasantly surprised with the success of this recipe.
I made this for the first time and it was absolutely delicious ? I cooked it for about 6 hours in low and it was just so tender. Will definitely be doing it again
Wow!! I have never never had a sirloin tip roast turn out so tender and full if flavor!!! This is a recipe I am passing on to my daughter,, she will absolutely love it!! Perfect for anyone who is onva tight budget and csn onky afford a cheap cut of meat. Melted in our mouths with mashed garluc potatoes, gravy, Brussels sprouts. Yum Yum!!!!!!
For 2.3kg piece would I double the quantities of the other ingredients?
John you could double the flavours but no need to double the stock as it will still release heaps of it’s own liquid
Can i use the regular mus? tard instead of whole grain mustard
You can 🙂
Online shopping options meant I had a bolar blade roast which I hadn’t cooked before. This recipe was spot on., followed exactly. Nice tender meat and delicious sauce.
This was very delicious, had a very happy family
I have made this without tomato paste (tomato allergy), swapped soy sauce for Worcestershire sauce & omitted the pepper (grandies don’t like pepper) & it is still very tasty.
I added a bed of sliced onion under the beef but otherwise followed the we recipe to a T. So delicious and moist! After taking the beef out to rest, I skimmed the melted fat of the top of the sauce and whisked in a cornflour slurry to thicken the sauce a little
This was so delicious and juicy. I surpassed my expectations. I think the Worcestershire sauce really makes it meaty. Will definitely be making this again
