Piggy Ribs
Pork ribs in a spice rub and sticky BBQ sauce
Equipment
- Slow Cooker (5-7L)
- Air Fryer (Optional)
Ingredients
- 2 racks pork ribs (approx 500g per rack)
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 cup smoky BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Place pork ribs, meat side up, on a tray or board
- Combine all the dry ingredients (not the sauce) and rub this spice mix generously all over the pork ribs
- Place pork ribs (spiced meat side up, bone side down) in your slow cooker
- Baste/brush the ribs over with 2/3 cup of BBQ sauce. (Reserve the other 1/3 of the sauce for later)
- Slow cook on low for 5hrs
- If you do not plan to air fry the ribs at the end then you may like to baste with the final 1/3 cup of BBQ sauce in the final 30mins of the slow cooking time to freshen up the sauce glaze prior to serving.
- Optional: If you have an air fryer, after the slow cook time has completed, baste with the remaining 1/3 cup BBQ sauce and place into your air fryer at 200 degrees C for 5-10mins. You could also do this step under a hot grill/oven
- Serve ribs with your favourite sides eg chips, slaw and salad.Great recipe for game nights and entertaining 🙂
