Stuffed Sausages – Chorizo and Camembert
You will absolutely want to stuff your belly with these stuffed sausages! Thick juicy angus beef sausages filled with chorizo and camembert make for a super tasty dinner!
Equipment
- 6-7L Slow Cooker
Ingredients
- 12 THICK sausages – we like an angus beef variety
- 1 chorizo sausage (approx. 110g)
- 125 gram camembert cheese
Instructions
- Cut your chorizo sausage into two pieces. Then cut each of these 2 pieces lengthways into 2 (giving you 4 pieces). Then slice each of those 4 pieces into 3 matchsticks each. Giving you total of 12 long sticks of chorizo.
- Cut 6 slices from the middle of your cheese wheel. Cut each slice into 2 to create 12 sticks of camembert.
- Cut a deep slit down the centre of each sausage, not cutting through to the bottom or all the way to the ends of each one. In each slit add a stick of chorizo and a stick of cheese and push them back together towards closed.
- Cover the base of your slow cooker with a sheet of baking paper then lay sausages in close together – this helps them stay together and not lose any of their fillings. Note: If you were doing less sausages you may choose to hold them closed with toothpicks instead.
- Cook on low for 5hrs
- Lovely served with a creamy mashed potato and steamed seasonal vegetables
- Notes: Also featured on page 96 of our book Ready, Set, Slow
