Chicken, mushroom & wine slow cooker combination 🙂

  • 2 kg chicken pieces
  • 1 can of concentrated cream of mushroom soup.
  • 1 tsp chicken stock powder
  • 1/4 cup of white wine
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tsp dried thyme


  • Brown the chicken pieces and put half the chicken in a single layer on the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle half of the chicken stock powder and the thyme over the top of the chicken. Season. Add half the sliced mushrooms and half the soup.
  • Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • Put the wine in the frying pan you were cooking the chicken in and reduce by half. Add the the slow cooker.
  • Cook for about 8 hours on a low heat or 4 on a high heat, make sure to test and make sure the chicken is cooked through.. I used a 6.5 litre capacity slow cooker.

  1. I loved this! I didnt read the recipe correctly and just threw everything in but it still turned out great. I did how ever found it a little runny for my liking so i mixed some flour in with a bit of water and threw that in it thinkend nicely!

  2. quite nice, i only had drumsticks so used 6 for 3 adults, quite happy with the taste and flavour, will have this again someday..
