Mushroom Chicken

Chicken, mushroom & wine slow cooker combination 🙂

  • Cook: 8 hrs
  • Yields: 6 serves


2 kg chicken pieces

1 can of concentrated cream of mushroom soup.

1 tsp chicken stock powder

1/4 cup of white wine

1 cup of sliced mushrooms

1 tsp dried thyme


1Brown the chicken pieces and put half the chicken in a single layer on the bottom of the slow cooker.

2Sprinkle half of the chicken stock powder and the thyme over the top of the chicken. Season. Add half the sliced mushrooms and half the soup.

3Repeat with remaining ingredients.

4Put the wine in the frying pan you were cooking the chicken in and reduce by half. Add the the slow cooker.

5Cook for about 8 hours on a low heat or 4 on a high heat, make sure to test and make sure the chicken is cooked through.. I used a 6.5 litre capacity slow cooker.

quite nice, i only had drumsticks so used 6 for 3 adults, quite happy with the taste and flavour, will have this again someday..

I loved this! I didnt read the recipe correctly and just threw everything in but it still turned out great. I did how ever found it a little runny for my liking so i mixed some flour in with a bit of water and threw that in it thinkend nicely!
