Omg. This was so good. I added a little extra garlic powder ( i love garlic). Everyone loved it, even the veggie hating grandchild. I will definitely be making this again ?
Can you add potatoes and broccoli with this? And how would you adjust the recipe to suit the potatoes?
You could add broccoli with no changes needed. Potato wouldn’t be soo good as it would need longer cooking time which would overdo the soft cauli/brocc
This is the only way I will ever cook cauliflower again.
Absolutely delicious ?
If you’re adding other veg such as potato, perhaps par boil the potato first to get it started.
Could you use frozen cauliflower or broccoli for this recipe?
Yes you can 🙂 Just be sure it’s hot through and tender
So good, the only change we made was real garlic not garlic powder. We used 3 cloves.
Can someone please tell me what the tea towel trick is?

Hi Paulene, if I’m doubling the recipe in my large slow cooker would I need to cook more than 2 hours ?
Regards Sharon
Hi Sharon, sorry I only just noticed this question now after we discussed it on the group this morning. Since you did it 3hrs and it wasn’t quite done I’d suggest others add that hour then check it each 15mins after that x
what is teatowel trick. is that where the teatowel is placed under the lid of the slow cooker???
Tea Towel Trick
Made this for myself and my husband and it was an absolutely hit. Absolutely delicious and full of flavour. Will definitely be making it again and again
What is the tea towel trick? Thanks

A really delicious side dish. I made with cauliflower and broccoli. Will be a regular side dish in my house ?
If we used a larger slow cooker, do we double the ingredients and cook for how much longer?
Should still be similar time 🙂
I add zucchini and mushroom sliced to this
This is amazing. Even my fussy eaters love it.
Absolutely delicious! I don’t think I’ll cook cauliflower any other way now!
What is cooking cream? I’m in the USA. Any substitute?
It’s a cream that doesn’t split during cooking, it resists heat. Do you have one like that? I believe the UK folk say it’s like crème fraiche but I’m not certain. If using regular cream I suggest adding 1-2 tsp of cornflour to it before adding as this helps resist splitting also 🙂
Really good, really easy. Definitely will be making again, thank you Paulene.
I made this one for the first time and it will not be my last, what a great way to have Cauliflower..
We have a camping trip planned and this will be on the menu when we are at Takaraka camping ground on our powered site (taking the 2 pot SC with us)
If you like Cauliflower, you will definitely enjoy this recipe…!
I love making this, it’s so easy and the whole family loves it. Sometimes I do half broccoli and half cauliflower and it’s just as delicious.
Could you double all the ingredients and make this as a main meal not a side dish
And if so, would it need to cook for longer?
No reason you couldn’t double it for a main 🙂 It would just take a little longer is all – or if you did it in a 6L instead of the 3.5L the times would probably still be similar as it would be emptier so cook hotter 🙂
Hi could you use fresh chives? Thank you
Yes I often do so Bec 🙂
Could you please tell me what cooking cream is. What would be the equivalent in the uk? Thanks
Cooking cream is one that resists splitting when heated Lin

I cooked this for Easter lunch, without bacon as I had none as added broccoli. OMG! Best bake I’ve ever done. So yummy and massive win with the family
Is 3hrs on low or high
It’s not 3hrs?
And recipe already states HIGH (for 1.45-2)
Very easy recipe. Made enough to have a few more servings during the week.
Made this last night, it was super delicious. Took a bit longer than recipe stated but I didn’t cut the cauliflower small.
This was so delicious, a lovely way to have cauliflower. we will be having this again. Thank you Paulene for sharing your recipe.
I don’t really like cauliflower but omg this was delicious.
I used full cauliflower and broccoli head and one zucchini, keeping the same amount of liquid.
Yum yum yum, hubby said he could eat this everyday.
This was absolutely delicious – a great accompaniment to any meal. So tasty. Definitely do again.
I found this recipe about 6 weeks ago and it is delicious, I have made it every week since. One time I didn’t have any cooking cream so I used cheese sauce and it was still great
