Honey/Mustard Shredded Chicken

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 1 and 1/4 cup honey mustard sauce (or 1 cup mustard and 1/4 cup honey)
  • 5 medium sized mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 onion
  • little bit of dry parsley or fresh
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • few slices of cut bacon
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire (optional)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable broth / stock
  • Cornflour +water


  • Fry bacon, mushrooms and garlic in a fry pan and set aside
  • Add chicken breasts to slow cooker, no browning needed
  • Pour over honey mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and vegetable broth
  • Add sliced onion, sprinkle with parsley
  • Cook for 3 hours 50 minutes on low
  • When 30 minutes is left of cooking time, take chicken out and shred it then put back in sauce add mushrooms, bacon and garlic and stir
  • Cook last 10-15 minutes turn on high and add cornflour/water mix and cook with lid off until sauce thickens
