Does anyone know if a tea towel is used please??
Yes I would use a tea towel 🙂
Made this for the first time last night and they turned out perfectly. Super easy recipe to do and served it with vanilla bean ice cream – everyone absolutely loved it!!
Delicious, will be doing again. Whole family loved it.
Simply sensational!
Sensational!! Please be warned… taste of these will most definitely cause excess consumption!! ?

Yum, yum, yum! Super easy to make and so yummy!
Quick and easy to make, and perfect results every time. Greatly enjoyed by our teenage boys (and their parents!!)
What syrup do u use as well as the golden syrup stated first on the ingredients list ?
That one is just a heading for the syrup ingredients below it 🙂
These were delicious, might mash banana in the dumpling mixture next time like Shays comment, cos I found them a bit stogy and floury . But the flavour of them was delish and the syrup was to die for
My go to recipe for golden syrup dumplings!
Delicious, easy and a family fave. Make it at home and out camping. Such a lovely dessert to make.
What type of cream is used for the scones as the ingredients list just says cream
Just regular thickened cream I’d assume 🙂
Amazing dessert. Made for my mum and loved it – yummy! Delish ❤
Please….what type of cream..single…double..whipping?
Regular thickened cream it’s called in Australia. A pourable type of cream that you could whip or just use poured
so whats the tea towel used for
Tea Towel Trick
Wow! This is delicious! I used gluten free SR flour so the whole family could enjoy it too. And I used the tea towel trick. I’ll definitely make this one again!!!
“Yields 4 – 6” Is that serves or individual dumplings?
Yields is serves Lisa 🙂
cooking cream in UK is Single Cream
Great recipe, worked really well.
Used a dark caster sugar as it was all I had, the sauce was really dark and was kinda toffee flavoured. I also used lactose free cream instead of regular
Are the quantities of this recipe ok for the small 1.5L slow cooker or should it be in bigger?
These are fantastic! Now a Sunday night favourite in our house
What a yummy recipe!!
I made it last night and a definite hit.
The recipe doesn’t specify size of slow cooker so I made it in a 3L bowl. I would use my 5.5L next time as the dumplings stuck together and it turned out like a self saucing pudding.
I used a small ice cream scoop to shape the dumplings and used a tea towel for cooking.
It comfortably served 5 adults with leftovers for breakfast. Winning ?
Absolutely delicious, massive hit in my household they all loved these. Made a few times now and each time I get the double thumbs up from everyone.
For a first time making golden syrup dumplings and what a wow factor and i added a bit more lemonade and they were so moist and really tasty and i will make them again
Please can someone tell me if this recipe is too much for the small 1.5 L slow cooker?
Would like to make tonight, but I’m cooking pickled pork in my 3L cooker thanks everyone
Yes I believe this one is too small for 1.5L
These are the best dumplings I’ve ever made ❤️
Made for the first time tonight. Found them a bit doughy. Would that be because I didn’t use tea towel under lid?
You might like smaller dumplings perhaps Darlene? 🙂
Can someone please reply to these questions : 1 WHY DOES IT TASTE DOUGHY TO SOME PEOPLE ??
2: DO YOU HAVE TO ADD THE LEMONADE ??
: 3 WHY THE TEA TOWEL & IS THE TEA TOWEL WET/ OR DRY ??
