Beef in Black Bean Sauce

Ingredients
 

  • 500g braising steak, diced
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 200mL water
  • 3 tbsp of a good-quality black bean sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 brown onion, quartered
  • 1 green pepper, chopped roughly
  • 1/2 cup chopped spring onion

Instructions
 

  • Dice the steak and toss in the cornflour until coated.
  • Brown the coated steak in the sesame oil in a frypan - in batches if need be
  • Add beefto the slow-cooker.
  • Combine and addother ingredients except the spring onion.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6hrs.
  • Add spring onion a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve with rice

    You said to previous person you can use black bean sauce if you’re not using this recipe.
    But recipe requires Black Bean sauce

    Very nice! I doubled the ingredients and tripled the amount of the black bean sauce. I also added carrot, Asian greens and broccoli and served with rice, we will definitely be having this again.

    Absolutely delicious!! I left the capsicum out and added sliced carrot. it’s one of my partners fav Chinese dishes and always orders with carrots only. I tried to replicate lol.
    Got the seal of approval and asked to have again next week!
    Will add black beans and broccoli next week ?
