Serving: 4
Ingredients
- 1kg beef
- 1onion
- 4 potatoes cut to chunks
- 1 tblspn garlic
- 1 tblspn ginger
- 1 heaped tbsp homemade Fijian 5 spice (see below to make your own)
- 2 tspn Garam masala
- Good spash of soy sauce
- Juice of a lime
- Cup of natural yogurt mixed with a tblspn of cornflour
- Frozen Beans
Fijian 5 spice mix (equal parts, best quality)
- seeds of cumin
- brown mustard
- fenugreek
- Nigella
- fennel
- ground up with a tad of cinnamon
Instructions
- Such a simple, easy and full of flavour dish.
- Mix all of the ingredients together and marinade over night. This is a must to penetrate the meat with full flavour.
- Pop all in slow cooker and cook for 6-8hrs on low
- Serve with basmati rice

What piece of beef would you recommend using for this recipe?
I’d use inexpensive beef with a little fat rather than anything too lean 🙂
did you chop up your meat before putting into slow cooker??
I would, however it could be cooked whole and cut/shredded at end if you prefer I’m sure 🙂
