  • Yields: 1 (multiply for more serves)


Chopped cabbage, chunks of potato, kumera and pumpkin (enough for one serve per hangi)

1 chicken thigh

1 mutton chop

Made up stuffing mix - enough for one serve


1Easy Slow Cooker Hangi

2Line your Slow Cooker with tin foil (enough overhanging at the top to fold over the food)

3Put chopped cabbage on the bottom

4Next Layer Veges - we used potato, kumera & pumpkin in this one

5Then your meat (we used Chicken Thighs and Mutton Chops)

6Stuffing Mixture on top

7Cover the tin foil over and put lid on

8Cook for 6 - 8 hours on low

9No water added in the bottom, it will steam itself and the meat juices baste the vegetables

10No tea towel needed under the lid

11I make this all the time and have never had a fail.
