I also add 1/2 cup brown lentils occasionally.
This soup looks awesome can you freeze it
even the toddler liked it!
Just made this – it’s amazing and so easy! I added sage 🙂
Yummo! Will def make this again.

Awesome soup, everyone loved it the first time I made it so making it again today ??
Really tasty. Best Potato and Leek soup I’ve made.
Soooo good!!! Even the 1 year old devoured it! Think this will be a staple throughout winter!!! YUM!!!
Should the cream be added when the potatoes are soft and leave it to continue to cook or should cream be added at the end before cooking is finished?
So cook for the 6hrs until tender, then add cream, then blend and serve 🙂
Big winner in our house now winter is here it’s cooking away .. can’t wait for dinner we love a crusty loaf with loads of butter on it with it yummy
Our favourite soup, I blend 75% of it and leave a few chunky veg.
Thanks for a great tasting recipe!! Always a good sign when ‘seconds’ are required!!
Best soup ever. Even my extremely fussy 2 year old ate it and my 7 year old said she wants it every night forever ?
Delicious! Will definitely make this again!
Used about 1500 g potato and 200 g cauliflower .
We made this Sunday
Was yummmmoo..
Having a cauliflower hater in the house (the biggest baby of them all; MY HUSBAND…
???), I used broccoli, instead.
I also
doubled the potatoes tripled the chicken stock,
and
added an onion.
Ad well as frying the bacon.
It filled my Spotlight square sear ‘n cook, and tonight we’ll finish the last of it…
Yummy yummy,
Had this last night, was fantastic. Will be making again ?
Do you use dried herbs?
Thankyou
While this isn’t my recipe Lindy-Lou I would guess at those small volumes that it would be dried herbs 🙂
I doubled this recipe and cooked it for my work’s weekly Soup luncheon and people are still talking about it weeks later!
I used fresh herbs (guessed the amounts) and used maybe half the cream. I also fried the bacon pieces for a few minutes in my slow cooker before adding all the other ingredients and it was absolutely delicious. 10/10, can’t wait to cook it again.
Giving this one a go…..changed leek to spring onion because i had them 🙂
How was it Barry 🙂
This recipe is absolutely delicious. I make this at least once a week in winter and it came in very handy when we were all down with COVID!
Could I use chicken as well in this recipe
I don’t see why not, the time would be long enough to cook through an eg diced chicken fillets etc
Made Friday night and wanting to freeze leftovers ? Yes or No ???
