6 hrs 5 mins
1-1.5kg steak (I used rump but any cut can be used)
1/2 cup blackberry jam
3/4 cup tomato ketchup (or tomato sauce)
1 packet dry french onion soup
Cracked black pepper (approx 1 teaspoon)
1Place all ingredients in the slow cooker bowl
2Cook on low for 6 hours
4Check sauce approximately 1 hour before serving, if too savoury added another tablespoon of jam too make it a more sweet taste :)

I don’t like blackberry jam so I made this using plum jam and tomato soup instead of the sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much for another great recipe.

Delicious dish 👌

Tonight I made this mouth watering dish. For something so simple ingredient and preparation wise, it packed a serious flavour punch. The jam makes a beautiful stickiness and the beef melts in your mouth. I served it with jasmine rice & broccoli in a garlic butter

Had this one cooking yesterday – swapped out the french onion soup mix with beef stock and added a good dash of worcestershire sauce – This was a winner and will be definitely cooked again

If you heat the jam up in the microwave, you can straight out the seeds with a strainer (make sure you don’t melt it if it’s plastic, and beware, hot jam is lava). I’ve just popped in slow cooker for first time, see how we go!

It was delicious 😋 but the seeds were ghastly for me so next time I’ll get seedless lol, thickened an hour before serving with corn flour slurry 1 TBS with half a cup of the juices

This was so easy and delicious, I didn’t have blackberry jam, yet had plum sauce in my pantry ,this worked fine. And I used 8 chicken drumsticks. This will be a recipe to keep.

Very nice & sweet enough no need to add any extra jam.. used 1kg diced lean beef Would prefer to find a variety of blackberry jam without the pips for next time but overall easy and enjoyed by all the family including master 12 & Miss 18 who are not big meat eaters..👍

We used a kg of diced beef and floured it lightly first
Served with sweet potato mash, steamed broccolini & fresh corn cobs
The only thing I’d do differently next time is look for seedless jam to avoid the occasional pips
Will definitely do this meal again
Wish I’d tried it sooner 🙂

Very tasty recipe. I used chuck steak instead of rump steak and it was great. The sauce is a delicious flavour. Definitely going to make this again.
