  • Yields: 10 serves

Ingredients

1 piece of corned beef, rinsed (any size to suit your slow cooker)

MARINADE

2 tblsp Honey

2 tblsp Brown Sugar

2 tblsp Dijon Mustard

2 tblsp Wholegrain (seeded) Mustard

HONEY MUSTARD WHITE SAUCE

80g plain flour

80g butter

500ml milk

500ml reserved ‘stock’ after cooking beef

Directions

1Combine marinade ingredients in a small bowl. Spray slow cooker with cooking oil and place beef into cooker. Pour marinade over beef. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.

2Once cooked, pour liquid that has accumulated (the ‘stock’) into a jug and reserve (do not discard).

3In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat then add flour and stir for 3-5 minutes. Add 500m milkl & 500ml of reserved stock and whisk gently until thick (If you don’t have enough stock from cooking, top up with water).

4Serve beef with honey mustard white sauce.

5Use remaining honey mustard white sauce as a recipe base for Honey Mustard Chicken, the same as using a jar sauce (eg chicken tonight jar sauce).

Absolutely amazing ❤️ so nice and tender, I had no honey so I used golden syrup instead, turned out the same! 10/10

This was a really great meal. I cooked mine 2 hrs high 3 low and it sliced perfectly and was lovely and tender. I removed the beef and added 300mls of cooking cream turned it back up to high to thicken. So yummy served with mashed potatoes and veggies with lots of sauce .

Love this recipe. Rinsed it well and it was less salty than regular corned beef, I think because the honey mustard flavouring was the star. I won’t make it any other way anymore. Love that there is enough sauce left for another meal too.

Made this the other night. First time cooking a silverside without any liquid so I was a bit sceptical . Absolutely loved it, it wasn’t dry at all and so tender. Even fussy daughter loved it!!
