2 hrs 2 mins
3 or 4 cans of cannellini beans
1 jar of pureed tomatoes (pasata)
8 rashers of bacon finely chopped
1 medium onion finely chopped
1Pop the onion and bacon in the slow cooker on high with a bit of oil and cook until ready (onion translucent and bacon almost cooked).
2Put in the tomato puree, the beans (thoroughly washed and drained), a tablespoon of golden syrup and a few dashes of smoked paprika (as much or as little as your taste desires).
3Cook on low for a couple of hours.

Great recipe. Evan got a large portion in the freezer. Easy to do & tastes fantastic. For adults this is way better than the canned beans! Thank you for this recipe.

Just served these bad boys at a post dawn service breakfast for Anzac Day. They were a hit and at least 3 couples asked for the recipe! The only change I would make (personally), would be to use onion powder in place of the onion, although I cooked it down with the bacon, it wasn’t enough cooking time to completely soften them up. But that’s minor!
