  • 4 skinless single chicken breasts
  • 1/8 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chicken stock powder
  • cracked black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup hot water

  • Place chicken breast fillets directly into slow cooker
  • Sprinkle with powders and pepper
  • Pour over one cup of hot water
  • Cook on HIGH for 2hrs
  • Remove and dice or shred chicken to desired size
  • Can be frozen in bags for smaller serves

  • Note: You could vary flavour easily with additional herbs and spices - I kept this one generic for use in other dishes and sandwiches

  1. Such an easy recipe, made this for my work lunches. Great recipe base that gives you the opportunity to add other flavours also xx

  2. Did this today so I could make fried rice tomorrow. Only did two chicken breasts and put it in my baby slow cooker and omg yum!!!I often buy a bbq chop and shred leftovers for fried rice but the poached chicken was more tender and nowhere near as dry.

  3. This recipe saved me and was the basis of my sons diet whilst he was body building – so simple and easy – thank you

  4. 5 stars
This was absolutely delicious. To shred I chopped into a few chunks then placed in my stand mixer. Came out beautifully
