Kickin Pasta Bolognaise

A spicy bolognese thats easy to vary to your tastes

  • Prep: 15 mins
  • Cook: 7 hrs 15 mins
  • Yields: 8 servings


1/2 kg beef mince

2 bottles passata

1 x400g tin diced tomatoes

2 x 140g tubs tomato paste

2 cups liquid beef stock

3 cloves garlic, minced

6 mushrooms, chopped

5 red chillis, chopped and seeds in

3 small red onions, chopped

1 tblspn Worcestershire sauce

1 x 500g pack pasta of your choice - penne works well

Parmesan cheese for serving


1Brown mince and onion for 3 minutes then add beef stock

2Add garlic and mushroom and continue browning for 2 minutes

3Drain and place this mix in large slow cooker

4Combine all other ingredients except pasta in large mixing bowl

5Pour sauce over mix and stir to mix

6Cook 6-7 hours on low

7Add cooked pasta to slow cooker and stir through

8Cook for 15 minutes

9Serve with Parmesan cheese and hot crusty loaf

10Freezes brilliantly for leftovers
