Shredded Beef in Vegemite Gravy

Easy and tasty, slow cooked shredded beef!

  • Prep: 20 mins
  • Cook: 8 hrs
  • Yields: 5 serves


1Kg of stewing or casserole style beef,

2 onions,

5 medium garlic cloves,

1 carrot,

3 thyme sprigs,

1 rosemary sprig,

2 cups cut up celery plus leaves,

3 bay leaves,

1 vege stock cube,

1.5tbs vegemite,

2 tbs tomato sauce,

good splash Worcestershire sauce,

pepper to taste,

1.5 cup water


1Add all ingredients into slow cooker.

2Cook on low 8 hours

3Remove meat and shred with fork.

4Remove bay leaves then add everything else into food processor, or blend with stick blender.

5Put everything back into slow cooker and mix well, then serve.
