Can you use chicken breast for this and if so, would it alter the cooking time?

Didn’t have a whole lot of luck with this. At the end of cooking was still very liquidy even after an hour with the lid off. Maybe my slow cooker? Anyway I ended up draining off the sauce and reducing in a pan on the stove. Still yummy once I had done this.

I made this and my partner and son loved it. I was a tad worried as both my boys have ASD and have sensory problems. But they love love loved it and i’ll definitely be making coke chicken again 🙂
Thank you for sharing this with us.

I find adding soy sauce balances out the sweetness. I’ve made this for years but in a pot (long before i had a slowcooker). I always use chicken breasts and cut it into strips. Yum

This has potential, but we were a little disappointed with it as-is. We used chicken breast (~1″ pieces), and did add some veggies (mushrooms, carrot, corn). The meat was perfect, and there was a nice (if subtle) flavour in the dish, but the “sauce” didn’t thicken at all (certainly not like in the picture). If we try it again, I’ll probably use only half amount of coke listed.

You usually just need to add a little cornstarch mixed in cold water to get the sauce thick.
