Char Siu Pork and Stir Fry Vegetables
A beautiful slow cooked char siu pork and vegetables recipe
Equipment
- 5L slow cooker (I used searing kind)
- Note this recipe includes marinating time before cooking
Ingredients
- 1.2 kg pork loin steaks (pork tenderloin/pork fillet can also be used)
- 400 grams frozen Chinese stir fry vegetables (I used green beans, capsicum, broccoli, onion and baby corn in the Birds Eye brand)
- Optional : cornflour to thicken
Marinade
- 1/2 cup Char Siu sauce (I use Lee Kum Kee brand)
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 2 tsp crushed garlic
Instructions
- Combine all the marinade ingredients and pour over pork to coat well. Place in fridge for 3-4hrs to marinade
- Place pork into slow cooker and include any leftover marinade
- Top with the frozen vegetables
- Cook on low for 3hrs
- Remove pork steaks from slow cooker and THIN slice them and return these slices to the pot. It's ok if you'd rather serve your steaks whole instead, but we prefer thin slices that are then super tender!
- Optional: Add a small amount of cornflour slurry when you return the pork slices to the pot if you'd like to thicken the sauces a little more. eg 1-2 tsp of cornflour mixed with 2-4 tsp of tap water
- Slow cook for an additional 30mins then serve
- We served ours on Oriental fried rice

Gave this a go and it DID NOT disappoint. So full of flavour and a massive hit with the hubby. He has requested it to be a regular on the menu.
Just yum, we marinated our pork for almost 24 hours and it was so full of flavour and bowls were polished off.
