Celestial Chicken

  • Cook: 3 hrs
  • Yields: 4-6 depending on serving size


700g of chicken (thigh with fat removed is nicer but you can use breast or tenderloin)

1 big can of pineapple pieces or 2 smaller cans (if you use syrup it will be sweeter than natural juice)

2 packets of *salt reduced* chicken noodle soup

Carrots (I use approx 6)

Frozen cut bean (I use a big handful)




1Dice chicken

2Coat in flour and spices

3Shallow fry in oil in a frypan

4Cut carrots into rounds

5Throw everything into the slow cooker

6Cook for 3 hours on high in the slow cooker (approx - just use your judgement)

7Serve with mashed potato or on its own

My dish has turned out gluggy, but tastes delicious and the chicken is tender. I feel it needs more juice. I only put in 1 450 g can of pineapple pieces as per recipe in book 1. Maybe I should of added a 2nd can?
