2 medium onion
4 cloves garlic
1 inch piece fresh ginger
1 tsp oil
2tbsp ground almonds
1Tbsp garam masala
1tsp red curry paste (optional)
3tbsp tomato paste
1 cup beef stock
1.5kg Beef - I used blade steak
2/3 cup yoghurt
2 rounded Tbsp cornflour
1Finely dice onions, crush garlic, mince ginger. Put this with a little oil into a frying pan on low heat and cook until onions translucent, approx 5 minutes
2Add salt, paprika, ground almonds, Garam Masala, red curry paste (optional). Cook for 2 minutes.
3Add tomato paste and stock, cook 2 minutes.
4Place korma mix into slow cooker and add in beef that has been diced into approx 1 inch cubes.
6Mix cornflour and yoghurt and add in for last 20 minutes, turn cooker off when you do this.
8I cooked this on high for 1st hour and then turned to low for 4hrs. It could all be done on low for at least 6 hrs.
10This can also be done with lamb, chicken or vegetables. The chicken version I did 1st hr on high and then 3 hrs on low.

Hi, could you please tell me which paprika we should use and the red curry paste, is that an Indian one or Thai. Sorry for the stupid questions but I haven’t made this before 😁

Yum yummm YUM!
I added everything raw at the start (except the yoghurt and cornflour which was added at the end)
We left out the salt & oil
It was so good!
Even the self proclaimed curry hater cleaned his plate completely 😉
Served ours as is with garlic naan bread

WIN WIN WIN!!!! All 3 of my small boys absolutely demolished this for dinner. The littlest one even went back for seconds. I doubled the curry paste and halved the salt. The flavour was great and not too strong for kids.

Absolutely loved this recipe (as did my family)!!!
I was a bit tentative taking on a SC recipe that required so much prep but it wasn’t as tedious as I anticipated- 10mins max.
I used cubed chuck steak and left out the curry paste.

Yumm!! I used only 1/2 tsp curry paste and once I’d added the yogurt I also mixed through a couple of chopped, steamed carrots and some raw broccoli and cauliflower. It was fantastic and four adults and 2 toddlers. Plus heaps of leftovers! Definite winner!

Thanks to the other reviews here, I used salt reduced beef stock and used more red curry paste as we like ‘hot’
And it was perfect to our tastes.
I served it with a dollop of greek yoghurt and a chili naan bread.
A really lovely dish, and will be happy to make this again

Rachelle you could try using more curry paste and garam masala, I only put that amount in to keep it kid friendly 🙂
Clare, you can omit the salt and use a salt reduced beef stock if you find it salty. 🙂

I just made this and it is waaaay too salty! I’m not a salt fan so this is almost inedible to me which is a shame as the rest of it is delicious. I used blade steak and had it on one hour high then 3-4 on low.

Really needs more flavour, ours was missing something . I used everything and was on low for 8 hours.

My 7 and 4yo both loved this and want me to make it again. I used ginger powder as we didn’t have any fresh, and I omitted the salt and red curry paste. Also only used 1 tspn of garam masala cos we ran out >.<
This recipe is flexible in that I had it on high for about 1.75 hours (went out and did the shopping), then had it on low for 2 hours. I could have done without the cornflour at all but added it in cos it was the first time i'd made it, and we also added a bit of water as it was quite thick. Probably cos of the cornflour!! We also added a whole red capsicum in the last 20 mins.
Overall, very easy and kid friendly meal. Will definitely make it again 😀
