  1. Does the bacon go in raw? And can you tell us if “cooking cream” is “heavy cream” in the US, or “light cream”? Thanks very much.

    1. Hi Theo yes the bacon goes in raw. For us in Australia, cooking cream is one that resists splitting when heated. Do you have one like that? Otherwise, the corn flour you are adding should see you safe from splitting anyway if you use a regular cream that you’d cook with 🙂

I have made this recipe twice now and it’s a winner! I added diced pumpkin last night with about 2 hours to go and it was delicious!
Will definitely be on my regular rotation

Cooked this twice now. First a double batch which needed a very long time for the pasta to cook and tonight a single batch. Our family absolutely loves this and fights over leftovers. Easily feeds 6 of us with a slice of garlic bread. Thanks Paulene.

Yesterday I made this dish for the first time, it did not disappoint.
Was so rich & creamy. I followed the recipe exactly, only added in some Cajun spice & some chicken booster powder & served with garlic bread.
I will definitely be making it again, only next time I might halve all the ingredients to make it a smaller serve.
Thank you Paulene for this delicious recipe.

This is so much better than expected!!! Used slightly less chicken. Pre cooked the bacon, I like crispy bacon, not fatty bacon. Added raw, chopped up onion. Swapped garlic powder for minced garlic. Added black pepper and Tuscan season – just for personal preference.
4hr 30 min on low was perfect.

I’ll definitely make it again and maybe try adding some sliced mushroom.

  7. Omg, I made this dish yesterday for dinner. Winner, winner chicken dinner. Family absolutely loved it. Will definitely be making it again. I cooked Gluten free pasta separate and added it in the last half hour. It was so good.

This recipe definitely dreamy and delicious.. I altered a few things, it was starting to.get too thick so I added a cup of white wine. I also fried the bacon and fresh garlic at the end and threw it in. yummy ?

After seeing a photo posted on the main site, I knew I had to try this recipe. I was not disappointed; it was so tasty and creamy but not rich. My husband loved it, and he usually leaves most of the pasta on his plate but not this time. You must get to and try it 🙂
