Bacon and Corn Chowder

Ingredients
 

  • 3 c corn kernels
  • 4 small potatoes, quartered
  • 8 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp minced garlic or 2 cloves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3 c chicken stock
  • 3 c milk
  • 1/4 c butter

Instructions
 

  • Combine first 8 ingredients in slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
  • Stir in milk and butter, cover and cook for an additional hour.

    Cooking time on post should be amended to 5 hours. This is our go to recipe for chowder, we just add in a handful of cheese as well though.

    Filling and comforting meal.. I served with crusty bread. Cooked on low 6hr next time would add less milk and cornflour to thicken
