  1. I made this yesterday, using 1.4 kg of chicken drumsticks. I also added a tsp. of minced ginger. 6 hours on low was perfect, and I thickened the sauce at the end by stirring in a mix of 2 TBSP of cold water and 1 TBSP of corn starch, and turned to high for 15 minutes. I have supper for 2 days, and I froze 2 containers for future meals. My first time using drumsticks, and this recipe is a keeper for sure!!

  2. Very, very tasty.
I used 1.6 kilos of chicken drumstick, so I increased all the other ingredients by half again. My slow cooker cooks a bit hotter, so next time I will reduce the cooking time as the chicken was a little bit dry. The meat just fell off the bones.
Will definitely make this again, though.

  3. Could you used minced garlic and tomato sauce as I don’t have ketchup in my pantry and can u cook on auto to cut down cooking time

  4. Very yummy recipe! I used 1.2kg chicken thigh added cracked pepper and a sprinkle of onion flakes, cooked on low for a little over 4 hours and served with sc fried rice. Delicious dinner, thanks for the recipe Paulene Christie 🙂

  5. Absolutely beautiful and also very easy. We added rinsed and dried hokkien noodles for 30 mins which made it gorgeous and fixed the tininess. A definite do again

  6. Yum! Was really good, will definitely become a regular meal through winter.
My daughter even asked for another piece so that’s a huge win!

  7. Can I jut check………do you mean ketchup as in what you would put on a burger/dip fries in? It’s just I notice further down in the comments you say you meant tomato sauce . I’m in UK so just wanting to double check I’m not confusing ingredients before I start, haha.

  8. 5 stars
This was really yum, I used whole thigh fillets and then broke them down to smaller pieces once cooked. Served with fried rice.
