Winter Pea & Ham Soup
A hearty pea and ham soup with vegetable goodness & a dash of curry 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 large ham hock
- 1 pkt smoked pork bones
- 1 pkt dried split green peas
- 3 Carrots diced
- 3 sticks celery, diced
- 2 Onions – diced
- 2-3 tsp Keen’s curry powder
- 1 Sprinkle Vegeta (stock powder)
- 2 tsp Garlic, minced
Instructions
- Fry off carrot, celery and onions in two teaspoons of garlic and your curry powder if you using it. Then add to slow cooker.
- Put your ham hock and bacon bones and one packet of split green peas into your slow cooker
- Cover with water. This is where I sprinkle a bit of a vegeta (you can use salt reduced chicken stock but I prefer the vegeta)
- Cook 8 hours on low
- Remove meat from bones. Discard bones and fat/skin. Shred just the meat & return to pot. Serve and enjoy 🙂

What wonderful feedback! Thank you so much Eunice for taking the time 🙂
