Meatballs Down Memory Lane
An alternative version to our regular Memory Lane chicken
Equipment
- 3.5L slow cooker
Ingredients
- 35 ready-made meatballs – Or adjust number to suit your family
- 1/4 cup Soy sauce – I use low salt soy
- 1 cup Tomato sauce
Instructions
- I make this recipe with ready made (raw) meatballs on nights I need an easy dinner. However you can certainly make your own favourite home made meatballs if you prefer and still use them in this recipe.
- Add raw meatballs to slow cooker
- Combine the sauces and pour over
- Cook on low for 4hrs
- I serve with a vegetable potato mash as pictured. To make this we simply make normal mash potato, cook some frozen diced peas, carrot and corn, then stir these into the mash just before you serve it.
- Serve with lots of the yummy sauce poured over. Don't worry it'll make heaps during cooking so don't be worried it seems not much when you begin!
- This recipe also works with sausages – I chop them into bite sized pieces with scissors raw, then add them to slow cooker in the bite sized pieces.

Could you make this with tomato soup instead of sauce?
It would of course be a different flavour to what it’s intended to taste like Caroline … but you could if you choose to I guess
Rolled my own meatballs today with:
⚽️ 800g pork mince
⚽️ 500g sausage mince
⚽️ 1 cup dried fine breadcrumbs
⚽️ 1tsp garlic powder
⚽️ 1tsp onion powder
⚽️ 1/2 tsp dried Italian herbs
⚽️ 1 egg
Made this last night with rissoles purchased from the butchers, cut into quarters, and half a jar of passata. Very easy meal and delicious.
Great idea Lesley to use the meatballs! 🙂
I made my own meatballs with pork mince i added onion powder, a little celery salt, Chinese five spice to your liking , pepper, garlic powder.
For the sauce i added a teaspoon and half of brown sugar, grated roughly a teaspoon of fresh ginger and two Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.

Thanks for such wonderful feedback Matthew! 🙂
So easy and delicious. Used 20 chicken meatballs (in WA the Mt Barker from Coles are amazing) added some crushed garlic and chilli flakes to the sauce. Served with the mash and veg as pictured. You can’t go wrong 👍
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your feedback Michelle 🙂
