Equipment

  • 6L slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 240 gram jar of hoisin sauce – I use Lee Kum Kee brand

Instructions

  • I use this recipe to meal prep a whole chicken into portions of cooked chicken. Alternatively it could of course also be served as a hot chicken meal with vegetables or salad!
  • Place whole chicken in slow cooker – breast side down
  • Pour over the hoisin
  • Cook on low for 6-7hrs or until no longer pink and juices run clear.
  • When I am shredding it I store it overnight in fridge. Easier to handle and shred the next day when cold 🙂
I get 8 portioned bags of chicken meat from a medium-large whole chicken
