  1. This cooked beautifully. Had leftovers the next day and was still yum. Will make again!

If I was home while it was cooking I would yes 🙂

This is one of my go to recipes. I have put in the freezer too and still just as good.

  3. I used this recipe but made a few changes- added mushrooms and carrot and swapped bacon for a small amount of ham.
It turned out great. Next time I would personally use less oil.

  4. Tried this today. It is tasty and as good – and easier – than the oven version I make. The cooking time was way too much for my cooker however. Could have stopped after about two hours.on high.

Best snack ever!! I added garlic powder (i add it to everything lol) was a huge hit but the whole family

  6. Hi All, I would like to make this, but am wondering what size slow cooker this quantity would be good for ? I have the Breville 6.5L….and also…. If I have the searing (non-stick) cooking bowl, I don’t need the baking paper do I???
    Thanks

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central July 16, 2018

You can make it any size, the bigger the bowl the thinner the slice is all so it just may need times adjusted
Check for when it’s set through to the centre 🙂
I like to line still as it makes lifting it out easy

  7. Should I do tea towel trick as got this cooking now for son play date tomorrow morning . Zuchini slice is always nice as well as hot.

I absolutely love this. I slice it up and freeze it. Every morning take a small slice out of the freezer for morning tea (reheat in the microwave). I also add chopped baby spinach and occasionally (if I’m feeling naughty) tomato and extra cheese. 10/10.
Note: I do not use the tea towel method.

Loved this, it was a bit with both my partner and my 13 month old, will cook this one again

  10. Had this the other night and it was very nice. Kids loved it. I found with my slow cooker however it only took 2 1/2 hours and was probably cooked a little too much on the outside. Made a second one and decided to do an hour on high then turned down to low. Just kept a close eye on it until it was ready.

Didn’t have any capsicum, but added in a couple of carrots, shredded ham to substitute for bacon and some minced garlic to this and turned out wonderful. Plenty for tonight’s dinner and tomorrow for lunch for all 3 of us (2 adults and 1 toddler). Very delicious

This tastes delish. However, Im finding Im having to finish it off in the oven as its a bit too runny. Any advice is appreciated.

Just needs longer then to fully set in slow cooker all the way to centre first 🙂

I use this recipe a lot. I make the slice for my kids lunches and they don’t know about the hidden vegetables. I also use 1/2 grated carrot

  14. Has anyone tried this with thinly slided zuchinni instead of grated. MAy come out as less eggy.

This was a big hit with hubby he gave it a 9 out of 10 and he doesn’t like zucchini and I never told him they were in it ??. I did add some grated carrot too and 1 teaspoon dried thyme

So this is the exact same recipe that I have cooked endless times in an oven (I add grated carrot, curry powder, capsicum, 1/4 cup oil not 1/2) The only difference is the consistency is softer. Still so tasty and easy. Love it. Will definitely cook it this way again??

    One of my Favourites

    Easy to make and adaptable,
I have made this Zucchini Slice before and added mushrooms and grated sweet potato and garlic
    Doubled Eggs and Doubled bacon

Today however due to change of my diet,

I still Doubled the quantity of eggs & Doubled the bacon, Swapped out normal Self- raising flour for
Gluten Free Self-raising flour & used Lactose free grated cheese, Added Italian herbs

    4 hours on high perfect

I made this yesterday and the only thing different was I only used 1/4 cup oil instead of 1/2.

This was fabulous! I made it twice in one weekend haha! Second one I left out bacon and added 4 mushrooms (also forgot the olive oil! Oops!) and came out wonderful. Absolutely foolproof and delicious!

I made this today swapped bacon for grated sweet potato and sundried toms. The sides burnt a bit (will try again ) was super easy and tasty

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central March 2, 2026

If you cooker burnt the sides a bit you can use LOW for longer instead of high … or just HIGH for a bit less.
Stop once centre is set whatever time that is no need to go longer 🙂

    Quite nice and tasty.
Next time I’ll half the oil as suggested.
Also might try some carrot and broccoli too!
