Rum glazed ribs

You will need baby wipes or a face washer to eat these! Very messy but beautiful!

Ingredients
 

  • Pork Ribs

Dry Rub

  • 1 teaspoon each of:
  • Garlic powder
  • paprika
  • ground coriander seeds
  • five spice
  • ground cumin.
  • Salt and pepper to taste and
  • enough olive oil to make a paste
  • (Rub onto the ribs and then leave for 24 hours. I vac packed mine and then froze them with the rub on)

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup rum or bourbon
  • 3tbs hoisin sauce
  • 1tbs molasses
  • 3 tbs cider vinegar
  • 4 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 3 teasp worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Mix all dry rub ingredients together and rub onto racks, marinade for 24 hours if possible.
  • Slow cook pork rib racks in slow cooker for 4 hours on high, remove from cooker and lay on a oven tray.
  • Put all glaze ingredients into saucepan and bring to boil.
  • Simmer until 1/3 gone and thickened.
  • Brush with glaze on both sides and put in oven pre heated to 180degC.
  • Brush with glaze every 5 mins or so until you are happy with how much glaze is on there.
