I have made this twice now. The second time I put about a quarter cup of desiccated coconut and it was yummm. This recipe is foolproof. I love it. The texture and taste is perfect!!!
I normally use 4 cups of milk for this quantity of rice and its very thick.
Love this recipe, i made a double batch, the family LOVES it, it tastes great, i will be making this again.
Just made this…yummy yummy ?
New desert at least once a week ?
I was looking for a cheap and easy dessert and this fit the bill. I also added 3 tablespoons of cocoa to satisfy my chocolate craving and it was delish.
What an amazing recipe, I’m not really a fan of rice pudding but this recipe with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar over the top was simply to die for 10/10
I made this tonight for pudding. I doubled the recipe as we have 3 adults in the household. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I sprinkled some cinnamon sugar on top with a scoop of hokey pokey ice cream. There was also leftovers for tomorrow. Thank you for a yummy easy recipe 🙂
Do you put a tea towel under the lid for this recipe
No as it would say so if you needed to 🙂
I tripled the ingredients!!
Large household and love rice pudding.
This recipe worked perfectly, delicious.
I won’t just make it again, I’ll make it often!
what kind of rice do you use? can you use brown?
I have made this today but doubled the recipe, I am new to this slow cooker thing lol, Should I cook longer then the 2 1/2 hours????
Sorrry I just found this comment now hours later
How did you go?
I have made this rice loads of time’s mine and hubby’s favourite and will continue to do again and again ..so easy
Obviously can’t use brown rice ?
What a waste.
Have made this a few times now – a family favourite – have to make double the recipe! I double the ingredients but not the sugar.
For original recipe with 1/2 cup of rice I use 3 tablespoons of sugar.
For the double recipe with 1 cup of rice I use 5 tablespoons of sugar.
I also use arborio rice and rinse it in a sieve under tap until it runs clear otherwise it seems too gluggy.
Hello all
I would like to triple this recipe (4 teenage sons), would I need to increase cooking time?
Love this. I normally do it in the oven but never again. I put cinnamon at the start.
I noticed a couple of people asked if you could use BROWN Rice – I have and only found it takes a bit longer to cook the brown rice but it tastes absolutely lovely.
Can I ask please what size slow cooker would I use for cooking smaller quantity ? I only have a large slow cooker but I have read where some use slow cookers of different sizes..
You could use a smaller cooker like the 1.5L cookers or you could use a cooking dish inside your larger cookers for example 🙂
What type of rice is to be used? Is jasmine okay?
Make sure to use full cream milk. I’ve made this a few times and it has been great but used lite milk last time and it turned out terrible
I have a large family, to double the recipe would I need to alter the cooking time?
1st time ever making rice pudding. It’s so delicious 😋, and easy I will certainly be making this again.. Thank you for sharing your recipe Katelyn.

This is a great go to I’ve made it with a can of sweet condensed milk instead of sugar. I have also made it with half cream and half milk.
It is so easy to work with this recipe and always taste great.
What great feedback!! Thanks for taking the time to leave yours Britt 🙂
Simple flavours, with a sweet & silky texture.
