Pulled pork with gravy

Ingredients
 

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic gloves crushed
  • 1 cup diced bacon
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 pork roast
  • 4 tbsp gravy powder

Instructions
 

  • Place onion, bacon, garlic, salt and pepper in the slow cooker. Place pork roast on top. Pour in chicken stock. Cook on low for 6 hours.
  • Take roast out of slow cooker, remove string and fat. Place gravy in slow cooker and stir. Place roast back in slow cooker and shred with two forks. Put lid back on and cook for another hour.

  1. This was so delicious! I added mushroom instead of onions but i did add onion flakes. Heaps of left overs as well.

  2. Delicious. Hubby really enjoyed pork cooked way. We had roast veges to go with it. ?

  3. Made this without the bacon, and salt and pepper. Still yum. Doesn’t really taste like pork anymore because of the stock and gravy but still nice. Hubby and daughter wouldn’t stop eating as I was shredding it.

  4. I’ve made this twice now and loved it both times. The second time I didn’t add the bacon and I preferred it this way.

  5. I am going to try this tonight! Do u need to pat the moisture off the pork first? I was reading the comments above and i was just wondering how you can keep that pork taste? Don’t want to make pulled pork unless i can taste pork ?

      No real need to pat it dry as the slow cooking environment is moist anyway Bec 🙂 I’ve not cooked this one myself to be sure on “porkness” of it haha

    Lush recipe. My family enjoyed it. One comment though. It says garlic in the recipe, but doesn’t say when to use it.
