The trick to this is the place a wooden spoon each side of the potato so you don’t cut all the way through – the knife stops when it hits the wooden spoon. I then pulled out every 2nd slice of potato so there was a larger gap for the bacon & cheese. And then I just put the spare pieces of potato on the top and cooked it along with the dish.
This is a fantastic side dish and we thoroughly enjoyed it

My 3 very fussy monsters loved it. I added mushrooms and onion to mine and I think next time I will add some garlic and herbs as well, because I found it alittle plan for my liking. However all in all it was easy to put together and cook and the monsters loved it so that’s a win in my books

absolutely delicious! I put a little dollop of butter on each potatoes and sprinkled garlic granules, salt and pepper on before putting on the grated cheese and it was so good. my daughters bestie is quite a fussy eater, and she said I make the BEST potatoes after eating these, and went back for seconds. I’ll definitely be making these again ?
