Slow cooker silverside & veg
Ingredients
- 1 large silverside
- water ( to just cover)
- 1 cup brown vinegar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 carrots cut in half no peeling required
- 1 onion halfed no peeling required
- 2 tblspoons garlic
- rosemary
- thyme
Instructions
- Add all to slow cooker make sure water just covers roast
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours
- Serve sliced with your favourite veges like cabbage with bacon, mashed potatoe and vegetables with a cheese sauce

First time making silverside and it turned out so tender and yummy! I also added 1 tablespoon of mustard powder to the liquid. Cooked for 7 hours on low then turned off slow cooker for about 30 minutes until I was ready to eat. Served with a white sauce that contained some of the onion that I had cooked with the silverside. Will definitely be making again
Can you use white sugar and vinigar?
Fantastic. I used apple cider vinegar and coconut sugar as substitutes as that is all I had.
