Lemonade Silverside
Fall apart tender slow cooked silverside/corned beef with the slightest hint of sweet
Ingredients
- 1 piece of corned beef/silverside (whatever size your family needs)
- 1.25L of lemonade
Instructions
- Rinse silverside
- Place silverside in slow cooker
- Pour over the full bottle of lemonade - It's ok if it doesn't fully cover the silverside
- Cook on low for approx 8hrs
- Inspired by the Gingerbeer Silverside recipe but a nice alternative for those who don't like ginger. This version has a mild hint of sweetness to the meat and is super tender!
- Lovely served with mashed potato, seasonal vegetables and a lush cheese sauce or white sauce

Absolutely loved this!!I used diet lemonade so it wouldn’t be overly sweet.Whole family loved it,we never eat silverside but it will be a regular meal from now on. Served with steamed carrots, corn and broccoli, mashed potato and cheese sauce.
Wonder if Fanta would work…it’s all I’ve got.
For sure 🙂
Different soft drinks for different flavour hints
This is officially my new favourite way of cooking silverside. Just a suble hint of sweetness but not too much and it was melt in the mouth fantastic
This was a huge hit! As a mum with a young baby, this was super quick to prepare, yet the results were amazing and delicious. Highly recommended!
Whole family loved it! Will be my go to for cooking silverside from now on, nice and tender with a slight hint of sweet lemonade taste to it 🙂
Thanks Bekky for taking the time to leave your feedback’s this morning 🙂
Hi wonder if it would work with coke with the silverside thanks
I’ve seen that done too
It’s the carbonation of the drink that makes it tender so really you can do any flavour you like 🙂
Sometimes I just do straight sparkling mineral water too
Absolutely loved this best silverside I have made yet! Was so tender half of it fell apart as I was pulling it out of my sc
This sounds amazing! cannot wait to try this! 😀
Best silverside I have had in years! Was a hit with my daughter, partner and father in law. We definitely be cooking again
I must admit I was a bit sceptical having cooked Silverside the ” Traditional Way” for many years. The ultra simple and quick method , along with the fantastic reviews , convinced me rather quickly to give it a go. I too only had diet lemonade but it cooked just beautifully. Being so tender with a subltle sweetness , compared to the old vinegarish taste, was a winner with our family. Lots of leftovers found their way into sandwiches for school and work lunches today. Thank you .
First time cooking silverside as I’ve always done it the old school way. Turned out exactly as recipe states ‘tender with a slight sweet taste’ this will be the way I cook silverside from now on…
Had this for dinner tonight, I must say I was very skeptical but I needn’t have been. It was just beautiful falling apart and so delicious, my husband loved it too. My new favorite way of cooking silverside. Thank you it’s a winner in my house!!
I love this recipe turned out delicious definitely will be using this again thank you
OMG I have never cooked corn beef before my mum always used to do it, well I decided to give it a go and I used ginger ale .
Well I’ve had 4 pieces to taste test lol, my partner is coming for dinner but we have something else planned but I know he wants to try it tonight, so could be a fight over it as it is sooooo good, just the hint of ginger and it’s not sweet or salty, will definitely do this again.
Awesome to have a change ,Think I will do it all the time like this
Thank you so much Paulene Christie xx
I made this with dry ginger ale today. It was so tasty and tender.
Will use this again it was so good ?
Awsome nd yummy as
Super yummy
I absolutely hated silverside growing up.
I couldn’t eat it for years until one day I was game enough to try this recipe. It’s perfectly tender and not super salty.
This is now on regular rotation in our house.
Thank you!
I hated corned silverside as a kid because it was always too salty until my brother cooked it using gloden syrup on it, I’ve done it many ways since and it’s never been as salty as back in the day, but this lemonade sounds good will def try it thanx
Try this “Golden Syrup Silverside“
WOW I just made this for dinner and it was a complete success. So delicious, tender and super easy…will definitely be cooking this again.
Very delicious
Never cooked silverside before but decided to try the lemonade silverside and its now my favorite way to cook it, even my child who doesn’t eat meat went back for seconds 😀
Oh my goodness
Lemonade silverside my new favourite way of cooking silverside. Soo tender with a bit of sweet. Served with boiled potatoes, carrots corn cobs and creamy garlic white sauce
Made this tonight for dinner and there was 1 thing I did wrong I didn’t buy a big enough piece lol only got a little bit I put away before I ate to take for lunch tomorrow. Definitely will be cooking this way in the future thanks for sharing your recipe or I would never have tried it.
Was a hit here even with fussy husband will be doing again
Heaven ! Best silverside yet. So good we all ate it without white sauce ! 10/10.
1.3kg took 5 hrs on low in our fast cooking slow cooker
I cooked my first Silverside on the weekend using this recipe and it was lovely!!! Easy and tastes delicious – recommend to everyone out there to give it a go.
Today I cooked the Lemonade Silversid … it is toddler approved too … my Mr3 & Mr2 enjoyed the little bits I pulled off for them to try
Would it be beneficial to maybe add a carrot or something too it? Or what to cook on as a side dish?
I find it best to cook sides separate and serve with mash and veg 🙂
I want to cook this tonight but only have about 6 hours to do it in.. do you think I could put it on high for 6 hours or maybe high for 3 and low for 3 ?
Go high all the way 🙂
Love doing this every month. This time I did a bigger piece of silverside so I could freeze some for the daughters.
I always cook my silverside like this now, so easy and always so tender!
Tried today. OMG!!!! So good
Hi I usually use water to cook the corned beef and use the water it cooked in to make a mustard sauce… could I still use the liquid to make sauce?
Thank you!
I’ve not tried that with the lemonade recipe but if you do let us know how that goes 🙂
I thought it sounded a bit crazy …….. but I have to say it was the best corned beef I have ever had ….. sooooooooooo tender .Will definitely be doing this again
Tried this OMG this is amazing!! Whole family loved it
I tried this tonight with 2ltrs of lemonade and oh my gosh it was mouth watering. My fussy 7 year old licked the plate clean. Served with garlic mash and steamed veg. Absolutely amazing.
Oh dear – I must the only non 5 star review here….. Sadly this silverside recipe gets the thumbs down in this household. I’ve always cooked it in the slow cooker with a cup of water, dash of brown or white vinegar, seeded mustard and a heaped tablespoon of white or brown sugar which has never failed. But I was looking for something different that everyone has raved over and I feel bad to say it was not good. That weird subtle lemonade flavour tasted urgh….
Great taste and l will be making my silverside this way all the time
I tried this for the first time tonight! It was AMAZING!!!
My kids 6 and 7 tried silverside for first time and they really loved it.
Hubby is not a massive fan of silverside but liked it.
Can I do this with flat lemonade? Leftovers from Christmas cocktails ??.
It’s the carbonation you need more Virginia 🙂
this recipe turned out amazing! followed to a tee, aside from adding 1 bay leaf for fun! as previously mentioned, the lemonade is a really subtle flavour, balances the saltiness out of the meat and is so delicious! will be making again for sure xxx
