Equipment

  • 6L slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 kg lean beef mince
  • 1 onion, thin sliced
  • 2 medium carrots, thin sliced
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1/4 green cabbage, thin sliced
  • 150 grams green beans, chopped
  • 250 grams broccoli, chopped small/medium
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 x 50 grams chicken noodle soup mix (dry)
  • 2 tsp curry powder (I use Keens so it's mild)
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 440 gram shelf fresh Singapore noodles

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients, except noodles, in slow cooker
  • Cook on low for 6hrs
  • When cooked, prepare the Singapore noodles by soaking in boiling water for 3mins, drain, then stir through your chow mein
  • NOTES:
Keep carrot and onion thin sliced to cook through to tender
Leaner mince (not diet but the in between one) is best so that you don't have an oily end result. If you choose to use full fat mince you'll most likely need THESE OPTIONS
Noodles can be omitted if preferred, or replaced with some COOKED rice stirred through in its place.

  1. Doulble recipe. didn’t put beans and broccoli but added snow peas and noodles for the after for the first bowl . And i like Clive of India curry powder .it’s a little sweeter and smoother.

We had this recently and it was loved by all.
Very quick and easy to prepare.
We didn’t add the broccoli instead using peas, corn and carrots along with the beans.
Next time will use slightly less curry powder.
    Thank you for this recipe.
