Mum’s Meatball Sauce
A delicious sauce to slow cook with meatballs
Equipment
- 3.5L slow cooker
Ingredients
- 700 ml Passata
- 4 tbsp BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp Dried Italian herbs
- 1 tbsp Minced garlic
- Meatballs (see notes)
To Serve:
- 500g cooked spaghetti
- Grated cheese (eg parmesan, cheddar or mozzarella)
Instructions
- Combine all sauce ingredients and add to slow cooker
- Add meatballs (raw). Meatballs don’t need pre browning, just don’t stir them in first 2hrs then they’ll be firm after that and will stay formed perfectly and intact and easy to stir from then on.
- Cook on low for 4hrs.
- Serve on cooked spaghetti and scatter with your favourite grated cheese
- I make this quite "saucy" as I like to mix a little extra sauce in through the cooked spaghetti to coat it before plating it. Then I serve with meatballs on top and a little extra sauce before adding the cheese 🙂
- NOTES: Please note: This is a fast and easy meatballs meal intended for convenience! This is why I cook with ready-made raw meatballs. We do have plenty of recipes here on our website for meatballs made completely from scratch if you prefer and they can still be used with this sauce recipe 🙂
