Equipment

  • 5L slow cooker – I used the Greenpan Searing slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 4 pork loin chops (approx 850gm)
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • Salt and pepper to season
  • 1 onion, sliced thin
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder,
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp thyme, dried
  • 1 tbsp Minced garlic
  • 2 tsp Chicken stock powder
  • 400 ml cooking cream – see note

Instructions

  • Add pork, flour and salt and pepper to a bag and shake to coat
  • Add onion to slow cooker and place floured pork chops on top of onion
  • Combine all other ingredients and pour over pork chops
  • Cook on low for 4hrs with Tea Towel Trick in place
  • NOTE: Cooking cream is available in cold or shelf packs in supermarkets. It resists splitting when heated. If you must use regular cream in this recipe then add a tsp of cornflour to it first to help lesson the risk of that splitting.

Hi Paulene, My slow cooker would take only 2 large chops Do I just halve the recipe
They look great and would love to try them this way. We are empty nesters now just the 2 of us
    Thank you
    Wendy Inglis

You could do that if you’d like to reduce the sauce Wendy. Or leave it as is and have extra sauce, or leftover sauce to use another night 🙂

There are no words to describe how delicious this recipe is. The pork is so soft and tender, not dry at all, and that sauce! Oh my! 1 million percent recommend you to try this!

I tried thus receipe and both my husband and I loved it. I tried the same recipe again but used a small mustard and pepper roast sliced and followed the recipe (minus pepper ) and loved the result.

Loved this recipe. The only problem I had was that the sauce had reduced to much as my slow cookers temp is hotter than most. Flavour was lovely. Will just cook it 3 hours next time. 🙂

It’s great when you know your slow cooker is like that and you can adapt next time – well done Patricia 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it!

  5. Okay people you definitely have to try this recipe the pork chops fell off the bone and were so soft, the sauce ratio was perfect both my young adult daughters, and husband really enjoyed it, definitely having this again soon.

Easy & delicious. I used the carnation Lite cooking cream. Also I added some wholemeal mustard & chilli. & green beans in the last half hour. Then just before I served it up, I added Singapore noodles. It would also be yummy with chicken.

I cooked this tonight for my husband and I. I didn’t quite have enough for the amount of cream required, but the sauce was so lovely I just wanted to eat it with a spoon. I used 4 boneless pork loin chops as that was all they had available , but next time will double them. Such a beautiful recipe and so very very easy to do. Such a pleasure cooking one of these recipes they are virtually foolproof. On my husbands list of ‘must cook again soon” the list gets longer for me each time.

Made this tonight in my brand new Greenpan SC. Family loved it and the pork was so tender you almost didn’t need a knife to cut it. My daughter doesn’t eat pork but had the sauce over chicken tenders and raved about it. Will definitely do this one again.

Hi Paulene, would the cooking time be reduced if I used pork sirloin steaks?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central July 30, 2025

I would give them less if you mean thin ones – around 3.5hrs should do it 🙂

How long would I cook a 2kg shoulder with this recipe? Can I still put cooking cream in the beginning of recipe?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central August 27, 2025

I’ve never done this chop recipe with a whole roast Candice.
The cream is fine from start
BUT a roast will add an inch or more at least of liquids to the disk which could very likely affect your end sauce by a significant difference.

Cook this recipe fairly often & I cooked it the other night for my grandchildren. They almost licked their plates clean & asked me to make it again soon!
