Ingredients
6 lamb shanks
11/2 tablespoon plain flour
11/2 tablespoon oil
1/2 large onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons finely chopped ginger
1 small red chilli
2 cups chicken stock
1/2 cup char Sui sauce
1/4 cup hoi sin sauce
1 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
Coat shanks in flour
Heat oil - add lamb shanks in batches and brown (remove and set aside)
Add onions, garlic, ginger and chilli - saute for 3-4 min
Add chicken stock, Char Sui sauce, Hoi Sin sauce and soy sauce, mixing well.
Add lamb shanks and turn to coat in sauce
Turn cooker to LOW setting - cook for 6-8 hours
When lamb is cooked, remove meat and thicken sauce by either reducing liquid or adding a little cornflour
Serve with mashed potato and green beans spooning as much or as little sauce as you like.
