Lamb Shanks in Char Sui Sauce
Serving: 6
Ingredients
- 6 lamb shanks
- 11/2 tablespoon plain flour
- 11/2 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped ginger
- 1 small red chilli
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1/2 cup char Sui sauce
- 1/4 cup hoi sin sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
- Coat shanks in flour
- Heat oil - add lamb shanks in batches and brown (remove and set aside)
- Add onions, garlic, ginger and chilli - saute for 3-4 min
- Add chicken stock, Char Sui sauce, Hoi Sin sauce and soy sauce, mixing well.
- Add lamb shanks and turn to coat in sauce
- Turn cooker to LOW setting - cook for 6-8 hours
- When lamb is cooked, remove meat and thicken sauce by either reducing liquid or adding a little cornflour
- Serve with mashed potato and green beans spooning as much or as little sauce as you like.
