Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 6 hours
Total Time 6 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 - 2kg of beef spare ribs (the really meaty kind of rib on wide flat bones)
  • 1 onion, grated fine
  • 2/3 of a cup of your favourite Steak sauce (I like Fountain brand)
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons of yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar

Instructions

  • Place raw ribs into slow cooker
  • Combine all other ingredients to make the marinade
  • Reserve 1/2 cup of this marinade for later, pour the remaining marinade over the ribs
  • Cook on auto for 6hrs ... or low for 8hrs
  • Carefully transfer the super tender cooked ribs to an oven tray and baste with reserved marinade
  • Cook under a hot griller for approx 10mins until browned and glazed with the sticky sauce (watch it doesn't burn!)
  • Enjoy!

  1. Definitely delicious the meat was so tender and the marinade was perfect..only thing I did different was use wholegrain mustard
    Amazing meal as always!
(And I’m not afraid to admit I pinched some meat off the ribs when they were nearly done in the cooker because the smell was to much to resist ?)

  2. Absolutely finger licking Devine!!!

Hubby got in on the prep too being big hunks of ribs

Served with baked potato n veg

  3. Delicious. As I only had a small 700g rack of pork ribs & was time restricted, cut into thirds, quickly marinated & cooked in 1.5 litre baby SC. 3 hours was plenty & finished under the grill. (Next time I will marinate over night for more flavour). Served with chips & coleslaw.

  4. Found this recipe in the new S/C Central Book for Kids, so, a nice easy one for Master Ten to make. He marinated them overnight and cooked for the 8 hours. Delicious, served with chunky oven chips and coleslaw. They got an 8.5/10 from the family. Declared to be much easier (read ‘less messy) to eat than the pork ribs (another fav in our house!)

  5. It was absolutely delicious. I didn’t alter the recipe this time around, but I honestly don’t think it needs it!!

Absolutely amazing, all I expected, Husband was a bit hesitant, once he smelt it,I was queen ? of some other amazing person. Thank you so much for making me the best cook ? it will last for just a day.

  8. These sticky ribs were amazing, a must to try. I used American Smokey barbecue sauce ( think it’s masterfood) for the sauce, garlic, dark brown sugar and some Kepis manis, slow cooked on high six hrs and then 10 mins in the oven with more sauce poured over then, cooked to perfection.

  9. This was my first time ever cooking ribs and they were absolutely amazing! The meat literally fell off the bone. This will be a favorite in my house!

One of the best slow cooked dishes we have had! A household favourite!!! and a restaurant quality meal !!!! We serve ours with mash, beans, bread rolls and lots of sauce dripped over the mash!!
