Potato & Sweet Potato Bake

  • 4 Potatoes, thin sliced
  • 1 large Sweet Potato, thin sliced
  • 1 Onion, thin sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • 2 rashers diced bacon, rind removed
  • 1 Tablespoon Mustard
  • 1 can (no water added) condensed cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup Grated Cheese


  • Spray bowl of slow cooker with oil spray
  • Layer bottom with potato slices, then sweet potato slices, then potato slices until you have used half of all of them
  • Top with diced bacon and thin sliced onion
  • Layer with remaining sweet potato and potato until all used up
  • Mix soup with garlic and mustard and pour over top
  • Cook on low for 4-6hrs depending on your cooker (see note)
  • Half an hour before serving top with cheese and continue to cook until melted
  • *Notes*
  • - Cream of soup can be exchanged for other cream of soups, eg cream of asparagus or cream of celery etc for different flavours
  • - I cooked mine in my medium 3L slow cooker which is twice as slow as my 6L large one so depending on your cooker you may need to adjust time.
  • - Cook until potato is tender to fork and not crunchy then add the cheese to melt

  1. Wow, this is definitely getting another go, I was quite surprised how nice this was, I used mushroom soup and it was delicious…
