Potato Bake
A cream free potato bake recipe creation using the fridge and pantry staples. The result was a hit!
Serving: 4
Ingredients
- 6 potatoes peeled and sliced into 1 cm
- 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup or you can use condensed cream of chicken
- 1/2 tin of milk
- 1/2 tin of water
- 1 packet of French onion soup mix
- 300g diced bacon
- 1 cup of shredded cheese
Instructions
- Slice potatoes into 1 cm thick slices and spread 1 layer over the bottom of the slow.
- In a separate bowl mix cream of mushroom soup, milk and water to combine, then add French onion soup mix and stir together.
- Pour over part of the mixture, then add the rest of the layers of potato and liquid mix each at a time until complete
- Cover with diced bacon and cheese.
- Cook on low for 5 hours with tea towel under the lid.

I had all of the ingredients at home on hand. I especially liked that the recipe didn’t require cream.
