Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 8 hours
Total Time 8 hours 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • Pork
  • 600mls Water
  • 1/2 cup Gravy Powder

NOTE--

  • We generally use any boneless roast piece (leg, shoulder, etc) from 1.8kg - 2.8kg

Instructions

  • Place pork in slow cooker insert
  • Mix water and gravy powder together, pour into slow cooker
  • Cook on low (Contempo 5.5L sc) for 8-12 hours
  • If you want crackle you can remove the pork from sc and put in a hot oven to crackle, I usually just put a piece of pork rind (cheat and by packs from the supermarket) in the oven for crackle some of our family prefer it not crackled and this covers both options.

NOTE--

  • You can cook for lower end of time frame and slice meat for roast and spoon gravy over or pull meat and stir through gravy for pulled pork.

Brilliant recipe! Thanks so much for this one Felicity, it’s a new family favourite 😉 I added some pink Himalayan sea salt, cracked black pepper, 2tsp crushed garlic and 1TBS onion flakes to the gravy and cooked on low for 7.5hrs before removing the strings and then finishing crackling in a turbo oven for 30mins at 250°C. So yummy, I can’t wait to make it again!!!

As in cup measures … yes half a cup (measuring cups or measuring jug etc)

  3. I removed the roast after 12 hrs and added a few more spoonfuls of gravy then turned the cooker on high to thicken the sauce.
Absolutely delicious and so easy. I put this on before I left for work and came home 11hrs later to a fully cooked roast dinner – that’s usually unheard of for us on a week night.
This recipe will go on our regular meal rotation. Thank you 🙂

Cooked this last week using just 2 pork loin chops – it was easy & delicious.

Amazing! The whole family loved it, and we managed to crackle the rind at the end of the cook, using the air fryer. Will 100% be using this recipe over and again. We used boneless pork shoulder.
