January 22, 2016

  • Prep: 10 mins
  • Cook: 4 hrs 30 mins

8 chicken drumsticks

1 tsp olive oil

2 tsp of paprika

1 tsp garlic salt

1 tbsp fresh parsley fine chopped

4 cloves garlic minced

1Place raw chicken drumsticks directly into slow cooker bowl (see notes below)

2Combine all ingredients and pour over chicken

3Using a large plastic or wooden spoon mix the drumsticks around so they become coated

4Cook on low for 4-5hrs

1Any cut of chicken, with or without bone could be used instead if you don't have drumsticks

2No need to pre brown chicken but you can if you prefer to

3This recipe is intended for seasoned chicken pieces without any sauce included

4Serve with salad, chips or vegetables

Tried this for the first time. Next time I will reduce the paprika by half, and sit the chicken on a trivet so it’s not sitting in the liquid.

No but some like to blast it in hot oven at end to crisp up the skin – I don’t bother to do so myself πŸ™‚

Does the skin go crispy?

Sometimes “meat ‘n’ veg” is just what you need. This is yummy chicken and as easy as buying a supermarket chook. We used bone-in, skinless thighs. 3yo loved it, parents loved it…will become part of the regular family dinner menu now.

Absolutely delicious. Will add a little more paprika for our taste buds next time πŸ™‚
