Rather disappointed. Followed recipe as shown. Pudding tastes fine but the eggs and milk didn’t make a smooth custard like base but more of a scrambled egg consistency which was a strange texture. I had wondered if this might happen when I read the instructions but decided to try it out anyway!! Rescued it a little by adding cornflour [mix with cold milk before adding].

No eggs- I think that is what may be causing problems in this recipe. Been cooking a similar recipe for years in the oven, but tried this in the slow cooker using my recipe as above. I’m aware that in using a slow cooker you shouldn’t remove the lid. I do as this prevents the macaroni from sticking at the bottom of the cooker. So give it a stir a couple of times during cooking. Also warm the milk at the beginning to give it a start. Result rick and cream pudding . Wish I had tried this years ago.

is it ok to leave the eggs out? I don’t remember mum putting eggs in it when she made it in the oven

Is the macaroni pre-cooked. Have some cooked left over from a previous recipe

Based on the cook times, yes this would be raw
