Super easy and yum. I added ham between the chicken and sauce. Even the picky eater was happy.

  2. Tried this tonight and it was scoffed down by everyone! I just used a tin of crushed tomatoes and added some Italian herbs and garlic and bacon. Really easy and will definitely make it again! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Jodie Leemhuis November 16, 2017

Wow this meal is just amazing !! I added a slice of ham to each thigh and then followed the recipe and served them with chips, veggies and garlic bread. All 5 family members were extremely pleased with the result and licked their plates clean. Definitely a new family favourite at our place, thanks for yet another brilliant recipe Paulene ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Wow delicious I did use the leggos pizza sauce and it did give a lot more flavour.
Next time I want to try the ham with it!
    Thanx

  5. Rebecca Sutherland November 19, 2017

Delicious! I added ham and left the lid off for the last hour, temp high to reduce the liquid. Also left the lid off to melt the cheese. Such a versatile recipe, simply change the sauce to change the flavour! Next time i am going to try romano sauce and add bacon & olives.

  6. Darren Comley November 26, 2017

Brilliant. I used thighs bacon pieces and a chunky tomato And herb Lego’s sauce. Everyone loved it. Next time adding garlic. This will bye a regular

  7. This meal was delicious and so so easy to make. It was a big hit with my family. Definately going to do it again. The left over sauce is in freezer for my spag bol i think.

  8. Yum, enjoyed by the whole family. Will now become regular in my house. It’s nice to find something that everyone eats and enjoys especially with fussy kids. I added sliced ham and a few Italian herbs. Kids thought it tasted like a pizza so I’ll take that as a win.

  9. Teegan Smirke January 9, 2018

Seriously the easiest and yummiest tasting ever!! I did add sliced ham in between the chicken and sauce ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central February 13, 2018

You can increase it to as many fillets for serves as you need ๐Ÿ™‚ Working on 2 fillets per person

  10. I made this and it was amazing. I added bacon and used chicken breast because i like the breast better. I also used herb and garlic pizza sauce.

  11. Jessica Gabris March 8, 2018

I make this using chicken breasts as thats what we prefer, it is absolutely divine! And it takes 30 seconds to put on!

  12. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central March 12, 2018

I made a BBQ version of this one
Swapping the tomato based sauce for a small bottle of BBQ Rib sauce and I added a diced onion over the chicken fillets also
Still added the cheese at the end
The kids especially LOVED this version (we are a bbq over tomato fan family here lol)
When I make it again I think I’ll stick to the BBQ version ๐Ÿ™‚

Easy and delicious! Used a jar of bolognaise pasta sauce and breast fillets. I actually finished it with smoked ham and topped with cheese but under the grill as Iโ€™m planning to shred the leftover chicken into the sauce to use for burritos tomorrow night

  14. This was a big hit in our house. Voted a resounding 8/10 so we shall be making it again.

  15. I enjoyed this and have lots of leftovers as my partner wasn’t too keen. Next time I’m going to try Paulenes BBQ version. I also put it into the oven for a couple of minutes to brown the cheese.

  16. First attempt at this today, and it was amazing!!!! So simple and easy, 15 mins wasnโ€™t enough to melt the cheese all the way, so put under the grill for a couple of mins and it was sensational. It a must try everyone ????

Loved this recipe . So Easy. I did the tea towel trick and also removed some of the sauce but mine still seemed a bit “watery”, Would love some recommendations for he tomatoe sauce. Will definitely be making again.

You can always sear the chicken first (and cut back cooking time) to reduce liquids coming from chicken
Also you can start with just chicken, drain juices, then add the sauce/cheese after ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. How does this not stick to the bowl? If I did this in my SC I would end up with a mess of chicken and sauce stuck like glue! :-\

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central August 12, 2018

It doesn’t stick because the chicken releases HEAPS of it’s own liquid… it’s almost swimming in it by the end – hence no sticking ever ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. It was absolutely delicious. My entire family loved it, and my picky toddler are every last bit.

  20. Tanya Geisel October 14, 2018

Super tasty, super easy! Added bacon as well . A keeper for sure. I did spoon out some of the sauce before covering with cheese.

  21. Susan Kubenk February 13, 2019

Absolutely loved this meal, and so did my hubby and daughter. Will definitely be having this again, and being so, so easy to prepare is an added bonus.

  22. I used chicken breast (still havent ever used thigh and kinda too scared), needed to remove the liquid at the end but it was so yum!! And super easy

  23. Kerry Gledhill February 19, 2020

Easy and delicious! I used chicken breast, cooked on low 4 hours and it was perfect, i added cheese during the last hour. Went down well with my young kids, will be making again

  24. MAUREEN QUINN January 27, 2021

Putting a t/towel under the lid stops condensation drips into bowl and stops food getting too soggy

  25. My two young boys and I love this. It’s cheap, easy to cook and everyone enjoys it. We’re now cooking it atleast once a week ?

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central April 14, 2021

If you wanted to add ham I’d add it in the last hour for it to heat through well enough

  26. For the people who used chicken breasts instead, did you use them whole or cut in half or even thirds?? Thanks!

  27. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! I did the BBQ version I used 2 bottles of 333’s bbq rib sauce (my favourite) served with wedges and garlic bread. Delicious

  28. Karen Cornish August 12, 2021

One of our super easy favourites, always make extra chicken fillet for Husbandโ€™s lunch the next day. Very tasty

  29. I used drumsticks tonight as thats what I had
I should’ve scooped out more of the liquid, but other than that, delicious

  30. This was amazing and so easy. I also added jalapeรฑos then the cheese. Definitely no leftovers in my house.

  31. Robyn Tickner September 5, 2021

Cooked this for hubby for Fathers Day lunch, we both loved it, will be doing this one again. Thank you Paulene. ?

  32. Judi Suanders September 28, 2021

This is too easy and also very tasty. I added spinach (when I added the cheese) between chicken and cheese…

  33. Nerissa Singh December 12, 2021

I had clean plates with this one, even from Fussy Mr 6. Served with rice and stir fried veg

  34. Love it and so do my teenage boys! I make my own homemade tomato sauce so it is low carb, rather than buy a jar sauce. Itโ€™s on regular rotation in our house.

  35. This was so easy and delicious, thank you for creating such a yummy recipe for this busy mum ??????

I made this for dinner tonight. Hubby loved it and has requested it again soon. So tasty and easy to do. ?

Tried this tonight. Scooped out liquid and made a cornflour slurry to thicken it up served on rice to soak up all the delicious sauce. Wondering if sauce would stay thicker if tea towel trick for whole cook? Everyone loved it

  40. So easy and so good! Everyone in my house loved it! My only annoyance is with my slow cooker – 6 hours is the lowest it will go with timing!
Interested to see that people who used breast used the same timing – I might try that next time.

    1. Paulene @ Slow Cooker Central May 9, 2025

Breast needs only half that time Amanda. However that’s easily fixed by just being home and turning off the slow cooker after 3hrs and serve it then ๐Ÿ™‚

    NAKED!
How have I never known doing it (parmi) like this was possible!
So saucy, so delish, simply decadent *wink* and served up HOT.

I did put a little spinach in next to the breasts (I know thighs are better but sometimes you get what you’re given) just a little bit before adding the cheese. Added some veggie goodness.
Perfect on a bed… of rice.

    Will definitely do this again.

This was a last minute decision to make this dish. I was scrolling, as you do, and up it popped. I had just been to The Mad Butcher to get chicken breasts and had the other ingredients. This was delicious. Although I used breasts it was tender and juicy. Love Debs addition of spinach which I will do next time. Five stars โญ

This is one of my favourite go to recipes for a consistently decadent chicken meal.
As others suggested this time I added slices of ham with spinach underneath the cheese layer for the last hour. With garlic and a caramelised tomato and onion pasta sauce. Then grilled it to brown the top. Absolutely delicious! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Œ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ˜
