Perfect timing, and worked a treat
Meat in one sc’er, Mashed in another sc’er,
Dinner’s almost served.
To do this in a 5.5l slow cooker would the time be more than 2hours?
thanks, just trying these out now in my new 1.5l sc to go with gravy meatnalls6
I am gutted I only learned recently that you could cook potatoes for mashing in the slow cooker! I tried them and was very impressed – normally I’d have two pots on stove because I like to bulk cook mashed potatoes to freeze for later. I’d have to keep checking the pots weren’t boiling over, a piece of potato would always stick to the base of the pot and burn, and there was that horrible scum floating on the top of the water! Not to mention the annoyance of it steaming up the house (the joys of an open plan kitchen, dining and living room). I put these on while I went out and when I got home they were perfectly cooked – not all mushy or some cooked and some hard like with a pot. I drained them and mashed them in a large flat-bottomed bowl. A simple recipe but one that has changed my life, lol!
I love this feedback Faye!!
Love doing my mashed potatoes in my slow cooker. Best way to go. Definitely recommend.
So easy! I have only used the little slow cooker for desserts until now. I won’t do mashed potatoes any other way. Thank you for the recipe.
