Marinated Silverside

The meat turned out very tender, flavour was delicious and not too sweet.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 Silverside piece
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbs american mustard
  • 1 sachet tomato paste (50g)
  • 1 cup coca cola

Instructions
 

  • Wash silverside thoroughly and pat dry with paper towel.
  • Place silverside in slow cooker fat facing down.
  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl until all combined.
  • Pour over silverside and place lid on.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours (baste every 2 hours)
  • The meat turned out very tender, flavour was delicious and not too sweet.

    Was very tender but was wasn’t really a fan of it kids liked it though which is the main thing I suppose.

  2. Decided to try this tonight and we were quite happy with the outcome, good taste and meat sliced well..
    Only cooked for 7 hours then let rest as not a huge piece of meat.. Give it a try, quite good.
